You can view our usual timetable here:      Timetable

Our main topic this term is Early History this will include history about changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Other curriculum areas such as art and design and DT will also be linked to our topic.

Science sessions will begin by looking at rocks, fossils and soils and then will move on to looking at animals, including humans.

Music will continue to be taught on Monday afternoons by a visiting music specialist. French sessions will be on Wednesday afternoons and the children will study topics entitled: Au marché and A la mode. During RE lessons, they will ask the question: Why do people love their sacred places?  PSHE&C sessions will focus on My Healthy Lifestye and Moving On.

During numeracy sessions with Mrs Blyton, children will explore time and then Year 3 will look at mass and capacity and Year 4 will look at position and direction. With Mrs Tomlin, children will study statistics and the properties of shapes. All sessions will develop mental maths skills and there will continue to be a special focus on times tables and rapid recall.

We will begin our literacy work by studying a non-fiction book called Pebble in my Pocket - by Meredith Hooper. We will then look at Ug: Boy Genius of the Stone Age - by Raymond Briggs. Cross-curricular work - particularly art - will be linked to these books, and the learning sequences will give opportunities to practise a variety of drama techniques and produce different genres of writing.

Further details of what we are doing are available in our latest curriculum newsletter.

Summer 19

Last term, we had great fun putting on our class production of The Blue Bottle.

Last year, we enjoyed putting on our Easter production of Wilbur's Web, based on Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.
